Meet the Board

  • Rob Grady

    President

    Rob graduated in 2016 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a minor in the Computer-Based Honors Program. Through the Accelerated Master's Program and the STEM Path to the MBA program, he earned an M.S. in Civil Engineering and an MBA in 2017. During his time in Tuscaloosa, Rob was involved in many organizations including the Honors College, Capstone Men & Women, The Blackburn Institute, Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, the Student Government Association, and numerous honor societies: Cardinal Key, Blue Key, ODK, Order of Omega, and Jason's.

    Rob moved to Charlotte in 2020 and began getting involved in the community. He currently sits on the board for the local chapter of his fraternity and the board for a young professional's group. He also serves as the lead mentor at Myers Park High School through ACE Mentor of Greater Charlotte.

    Rob is excited to continue to grow BamaCharlotte and connect with alumni, family, and fans in the Queen City.

  • Drew Cheek

    Vice President

    Drew grew up in Concord, NC before attending The University of Alabama. He graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2021 and with an MBA in 2022. Drew was involved with Housing and Residential Communities, where he was a Residential Advisor and Graduate Community Director. He was also a volunteer leader and Team Leader for the Bama Young Life College. When not at work, Drew enjoys Alabama and Charlotte sports, and spending time outdoors with his family.

  • Tedra Roper

    Secretary

    Tedra was born and raised in Charleston, SC, a mere 5 minutes from the beach. She graduated in 2019 with a B.S. in Accounting and a specialization in Professional Accounting. Through the KPMG Master of Accounting and Data Analytics program, she earned an M.S. in Accounting and Information Systems in 2020. During her time in Tuscaloosa, Tedra was involved in many organizations including the Honors College, the Student Government Association, Culverhouse LIFT, and a local church.

    Tedra moved to Charlotte in 2020 and began getting involved in the community. She is a member of the Charlotte Young Professionals Group and Citizens Church Charlotte. Outside of work you can find her hanging out with my friends and family. She enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, and attending concerts and sporting events!

  • Fin Irvine

    Treasurer

    Fin Irvine graduated from The University of Alabama in 2020. He has been living and working in Charlotte since graduation and is currently employed as a Senior Investment Banking Analyst at Leerink Partners where he advises public and private healthcare companies on mergers and acquisitions.

  • Lorri Lofton

    Immediate Past President

    If Lorri had to describe herself in one word it would be blessed. This Alabama native has been in Charlotte for 10 years and made her way here via her management position in Wells Fargo. While networking and connecting with other millennials, she realized that there was something missing on the Charlotte scene and put her plan into action creating her own events company. She has led or facilitated over 50 events. In April 2018, she orchestrated the first ever Charlotte Brunch Festival that took place at The Fillmore which had over 800 in attendance. This event is now an annual event with Chandon Garden Spritz as the presenting sponsor. Lorri has had recurring appearances on WCCB Charlotte as an on air news personality as she has been recognized and awarded as a top influencer in the Queen City.   • Liz Hill

    Co-Director, Membership

    Liz is originally from Hickory, NC right down the road from Charlotte. She graduated from Alabama in 2013 and lived in Birmingham for 3 years before moving back home in 2016. Liz currently works in talent acquisition as a senior recruiter for a logistics company headquartered in Ballantyne. She also is a placement officer for the Tarheel Weimaraner Rescue and have 2 weimaraners, Willow and River. In her spare time I enjoy reading, traveling, cooking, and cheering on the Crimson Tide!

  • Christie Stauffer

    Co-Director, Membership

    Christie Stauffer grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from The Capstone in 2012 with a degree in political science. Christie has been a Charlotte resident since 2017, and currently works as a broker for a logistics company. When not at work, Christie likes going to trivia nights at different breweries around the city.

  • Reale Snorton

    Director, Scholarships

    Reale is a proud Midwest girl who was born and raised in Wisconsin prior to attending UA. She was a high school Business Teacher for many year prior to moving to Charlotte and now works to support new teachers across the U.S. She loves all things Marvel and anime and can often be found at CLT boarding a flight to her next adventure as she loves to travel.

  • Kalyn Skaggs

    Director, Events

    Kalyn grew up in Troy, Alabama before attending the University of Alabama. She graduated in 2016 with a B.S. in Spanish and International Studies. Kalyn was a member of the Phi Mu fraternity during her time at Alabama.

    Kalyn moved to Charlotte in 2023 and is enjoying all the Queen City has to offer. She is excited to continue finding ways to get involved in the community and connect with other alumni and Bama fans!

  • Meagan Wilson

    Director, Media + Marketing

    Meagan graduated in 2021 with a B.S. and M.S. in marketing, a minor in advertising and specialization in digital and social media through the Accelerated Master’s Program. While in Tuscaloosa, Meagan was involved in and held executive positions in several organizations such as Alpha Kappa Psi, Tide Talks, and First Fellows, and interned with several sports organizations while she was a student such as Alabama Athletics, Stabler Sports- an NFL agency, FOX Sports and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

    Meagan moved to Charlotte at the end of 2021 and currently works in partnership marketing at NASCAR, the #1 motorsports league in the country. You can catch her hanging around the race track, reading, trying new coffee spots around Charlotte, and cheering on all things Alabama Athletics.

  • Bella Thoren

    Co-Director, Young Alumni

    Bella graduated from the University of Alabama in 2019 with a B.A. in Telecommunications in Film and in 2022 with a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law. While in undergrad at Alabama, Bella was a member of Delta Gamma, inducted into the Kappa Tau Alpha honors society, worked for Crimson Tide Productions and SEC Network, and started the Druid City Girls Media Camp. During law school, Bella was the President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and Chairperson for the Career Services Office Board.

    Bella moved to Charlotte after graduating law school and is an attorney for a boutique employment and litigation firm. She is a member of the Charlotte Hospitality House Young Professionals. When not at work, Bella likes to travel, read, explore Charlotte, and most importantly, cheer for the Tide!

  • R. Hays Galloway

    Co-Director, Young Alumni

    R. Hays Galloway graduated as part of the Class of 2021 receiving a degree in Aerospace Engineering. During his time at The University of Alabama, he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and participated in the STEM Path to MBA program. After graduating, he pursued a M.S. in Management from Wake Forest University and thereafter moved to Charlotte to work for KPMG Advisory.

  • Scott Wiley

    Parent Representative

    Scott is an enthusiastic and dedicated individual serving as a proud parent representative on the Alumni Board for the University of Alabama's Charlotte Chapter. As a parent representative, Scott brings a unique perspective and a genuine commitment to supporting the university's growth and success. With a child currently enrolled at the University of Alabama, Scott understands the importance of creating a vibrant and inclusive community that nurtures academic excellence, personal growth, and lifelong relationships.

    Scott plans to actively collaborate with fellow board members to develop impactful programs and events to strengthen the bond between parents, the university, and its alumni in the Charlotte area. Scott works as a Tech Start-Up executive in Charlotte and enjoys tennis, cycling, and his children and 4 grandchildren.

    Nicole Murphy

    Nicole Murphy is an Alabama native and graduated from The University of Alabama in 2015 from the College of Communication & Information Sciences. After working in public affairs in Washington D.C., she has been in Charlotte for 2 years. While Nicole has spent yeas working in agency public relations, she is now exploring corporate communications.
