Let’s dream up a story about the ideal great football victory.
First, it will have to be college football, where talent is first fully blossoming and team spirit still outweighs commercialism.
It will have to be a story about one of the best teams in college football history, and center around the greatest football tradition in America. It will have to be about Alabama.
The opponent would have to be beyond formidable. Let’s make the opponent one of the true current college football powerhouses. Even spicier, let’s make it a team our hero’s head coach used to lead, further fueling white-hot competition and smack-talking. Forget about that old cow-college rivalry -- let’s make it an undefeated, #1-ranked Louisiana State University.
The stakes would have to be high… the highest, in fact – the National Championship.
Just to spice it up, let’s say the opponent actually beat our protagonist earlier in the season and, by a miraculous alignment of the stars, a rematch is taking place.
The game must take place in the ultimate environment for pre- and post game festivities and celebrations. Where else, but New Orleans. The Superdome. The French Quarter. Bourbon Street.
Just a win by our protagonist will leave doubts about who is indeed the best team in the country. There must be domination. There must be no doubt. There must be a shut-out… that no one ever saw coming. At the center of our story will be a classic, monumental, SEC defensive battle with five field goals… sealed by a touchdown by the greatest athlete in college football.
Then there will be celebration. One hundred thousand fans of the greatest football tradition in the country parading with their unique combination of euphoria and class from the unimaginable victory in the Superdome to hours of revelry at the world epicenter for celebration: Bourbon Street.
The story is true. The dream is a reality.
THIS… is ALABAMA FOOTBALL!

An Evening with Dr. Witt
On the evening of Tuesday March 30, 2010, about 70 Alabama Alumni
and Friends came to enjoy an evening with Dr. Robert E. Witt,
President of the University of Alabama.
Charlotte area Bama fans responded in a big way to attend a BBQ celebration
at Mac’s Speed Shop - Steele Creek in anticipation of our victory over the Texas Longhorns. We even had to
move to this alternate location to better accommodate the entire group. What a time we had!
